Admissions

How do you get a seat?

No maths test and no degree required. Most people go from first call to a confirmed start date in under three weeks.

  1. A 20-minute call

Tell us what you do now and what you want to do next. We check the course fits before anything else.

  2. The prep pack

Ten hours of free exercises in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Finishing it is the entry requirement.

  3. An interview with a mentor

Forty minutes: talk through your prep work and solve a small problem together. It is a conversation, not a test.

  4. A seat and a start date

Pay the £500 deposit to hold your seat. Two weeks before you start, you get your laptop and timetable.

How we count: "hired" means a paid role of 30+ hours a week where writing code is the main job, started within 180 days of demo day and confirmed by a contract or payslip. Graduates who told us in writing they were not job-seeking are left out of both sides of the sum (11 people in this period). These are the school's own figures, not independently audited.

Graduate stories

From the ward, the warehouse and the staffroom

Two students seen from behind, talking through code on a curved monitor

Ward pharmacy technicianJunior full-stack developer, a hospital software supplier

“I did 24 weeks of evenings after twelve-hour shifts. The timetable was the only reason it was possible.”

I had been teaching myself from videos for a year and kept stalling at the same place: I could follow a tutorial, but I could not start anything from a blank file. Week one at Brackwell was exactly that, a blank file and a mentor sitting next to me until I had a page live.

The part-time timetable mattered more than I expected. Tuesday and Thursday evenings plus Saturday mornings meant I never had to swap a shift. When a run of nights wiped out a fortnight, my mentor moved my checkpoint by a week and nobody made it a drama.

FAQ

Questions people ask on the first call

Every question, answered

Admissions

Do I need to know how to code already?

No, but you need to have tried. Before your interview we send a free 10-hour prep pack; finishing it is the only entry requirement. Most of our students have never been paid to write code.

How does the application work?

A 20-minute call, a short take-home challenge from the prep pack, then a 40-minute interview with a mentor. You hear back within three working days of the interview.

Funding

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. A £500 deposit holds your seat, then the balance is split into up to 10 interest-free monthly payments starting on your first day.

Is there funded or discounted tuition?

Some places are funded through [funding scheme] for eligible UK residents, and we offer two half-fee scholarships each cohort. Ask on your first call and we will check your eligibility before you pay anything.

During the course

How many hours a week is it really?

Full-time is about 40 hours a week, 9:30 to 5:30 on weekdays plus some evening work. Part-time is about 20 hours: two evenings, Saturday morning and self-study.

What is the difference between in person and live online?

Same timetable, same mentors, same projects. Online students join the room on a shared video call and pair with in-person students every week.

After you graduate

What does career support include?

A named careers coach for 12 months: CV and portfolio reviews, mock technical interviews, introductions to our hiring partners and help with negotiating an offer.

Do you guarantee a job?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. We publish how many graduates are hired and how we count them on the outcomes page, including the ones who are not.

Not sure yet? Spend four Wednesday evenings finding out.

Code Foundations is £395, counts as your bootcamp prep pack, and comes off your fees if you join within six months.
